A PROFESSIONAL TOOL FOR IMPROVED PARENT/DONOR MATCHING

This site is the vehicle for the Marnella Parent Donor Comparison Scale (MPDCS). The MPDCS serves as a professional tool for exclusive use by those in the field of Assisted Human Reproduction. The purpose of the MPDCS is to help effect a "match" between prospective parent and the egg/sperm donor.

The shared objective of prospective parent, donor, and Assisted Reproduction professional is to bring to realization, the dream of building a family. With each step along the way there are intermediate goals. In selecting an egg or sperm donor the goal is to find a parent/donor match.

To do this, we will usually look at biographical descriptions and photographs. These help us match such things as history, hair color and height. But, there are other things to match as well, important things. Personality traits for example. Those won't show up in the usual photograph. So we take a "personality photograph" in the form of the Marnella Parent Donor Comparison Scale.

To get this "personality photograph" we pose 95 questions. The answers to those questions help to give us a picture of who the prospective parents and donors are. Both prospective parent and donor answer the same questions. Then the "photos" are compared. The results are not rated or graded. Just like the physical photograph, we are not making judgments about the desirability of a particular trait or candidate. It is neither good or bad that you have black hair. It simply is. What is important is that we can MATCH parent and donor as well as we can, looking at ALL the parts of that which make us who we are.
